The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has come under fire from Ghanaian socialite Nana Tornado for reportedly insulting Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

He claims to have credited Chairman Wntumi for a while and is hopeful the politician won’t say anything disparaging about Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the highly esteemed monarch of the Ashanti Kingdom.

He said he didn’t see anything amiss with Chairman Wontumi’s statements to have his law enforcement, military-related, or empire because everyone possesses a set of people they spend the majority of their time with.

“I’ve had calls asking me what I think about my father, Chairman Wontumi, accusing Otumfuo of insulting him for the last two weeks. When I learned this, I had my doubts since I didn’t think a knowledgeable individual like Chairman Wontumi should ever criticize Otumfuo. I’m being impartial, so don’t assume that because I’m close to him, I would talk in his favor.

“I won’t stand by silently while someone disrespects my mom; if someone criticizes my mother, I will take swift action against them. Thus, he stated, that the individual who accused Chairman Wontumi of Otumfuo ought to have the guts to speak with him by now, but by simply reporting the case, you are criticizing him.”

Chairman Wontumi was then admonished by Nana Tornado to watch what he said since it might get him into trouble in the future.

Chairman Wontumi’s claim that he has his own police force, military, and kingdom seems perfectly reasonable to me. However, some seem to have taken the matter personally. Chairman Wontumi is not well-liked by everyone, therefore I would caution him to exercise additional caution.
